Role Purpose    
This role will be responsible for managing projects and research related to sustainable aquaculture feed development. Red Sea native species are the focus but research is to be carried out on other farmed species as required. Feeds are to be develop dot maximise FCR’s, Health, Growth and Survival for target species under Red Sea condition and by production technique (cage, RAS, pond). The role will cover hatchery through to finishing diets. The identification and incorporation of novel feed ingredients will be crucial to the role.

Position description and responsibilities    
• Responsible for the overall planning, comparative analysis and implementation of seafood processing systems according to operational needs and in conjunction witj NEOMS partners.
• Develop and implement long term strategy including a profitable program.
• Develop talent
• Research and propose technologies and methods to increase production, increase recovery, reduce costs, ensure quality, and provide safer and cleaner operations
• Strong communication with corporate management and sales ensuring daily production reports, inventory, and logistics data tracked and shared.
• To oversee seafood processing improvement projects to ensure completion within timeline, scope and designated resources.
• To formulate and implement SOP for seafood processing in accordance with world’s best aquaculture practices.
• To conduct ensure compliance with world best seafood processing practices
• To manage quality checks, sample collection and analysis to improve efficacy and operational efficiency for the seafood processing facilities.
• Actively participate in the strategic development of the Section 
• Disseminate research and innovation results through scientific journals and dissemination channels towards the industry.
• Assist in mobilizing resources in support of new research activities.
• Develop productive partnerships to further seafood proicessing research, including key international and national research institutes. 
• all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

BACKGROUND, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge, Skills and Experience    
• Passion for NEOM’s mission to deploy the latest technologies to achieve Food Security.
• Have broad knowledge in the seafood or aquaculture industries
• Advanced understanding of seafood production systems.
• Knowledge of best management practices for seafood production/processing systems.
• Project management, including developing project strategy and simultaneously managing 
• Excellent communication skills
• Fluent in English, fluency or working knowledge in Arabic is a plus
• Knowledge and experience of working in developing countries in Africa and/or Asia. 
• Knowledge of seafood/processing-related technology and software functions.
•University or college degree in business management/operations/accounting (desirable) or a related field with associated industry experience.
• Must have 5 years’ experience working at a Seafood Processing facility.
•Technical background in seafood processing or a related field
• Experience in Project Management
• Network within industry or research
